Wesley Robertson gained his optometric qualifications in Queensland at QUT in 1995. He practiced in rural Queensland for 2 years co-managing with General Practice Medicine before venturing south to Tasmania. He was recently elevated to Senior Clinical Optometrist within the Total Eyecare group.
Wesley has developed a keen awareness of the rapidly expanding field of Information Technology and enjoys using the latest digital imaging equipment when examining eyes. He has a growing portfolio of interesting and unusual ocular cases.
Wesley completed further university training in Queensland during 2009/10 to enable him to prescribe topical medications for eye conditions. This training included a placement at the Royal Hobart Hospital and in local ophthalmology clinics. This extra qualification will enable most eye problems to be treated locally without the need for specialist referral. This is particularly useful for people living outside of the Hobart metropolitan area. He has also pursued special interest in advanced ophthalmic lens design and post-cataract surgery aftercare.
Wesley has always shown a keen interest in frame fashion trends and takes great pride in advising his clients on appropriate fit and design. Spectacle frames have evolved from simple beginnings to a “Must have” fashion accessory and specialised advice is critical in completing the “Total Eyecare” experience. Wesley has a reputation for exceeding clients’ expectations and providing honest personalised advice.
Wesley manages our Howrah and New Norfolk locations and has a very loyal patient following, some even travelling from interstate for his “very special attention!”
