Total Eyecare Sandy Bay

Total Eyecare Sandy Bay

What makes our Sandy Bay store special?

Sandy Bay is the second-oldest of all Total Eyecare practices with a focus on high quality eyewear and the latest testing technology, including retinal photography and visual fields testing. We are proudly locally owned and operated by the Optometrists who work in our practices. Total Eyecare remains committed to serving our local community through highly personalised and thorough eye care.

We love being independent

Total Eyecare is an amalgamation of several independent practices. Since our beginnings in 1946, independence has been valued by all our owner Optometrists as it allows us to make the best clinical decisions for you. Independence allows us to choose our lens, contact lens and frame suppliers without restriction. Having access to all the best quality products for our patients is why we remain proudly independent. As fierce Tasmanians, we also contribute to our local community by employing locals and supporting our local economy.

Our Optometrists in Sandy Bay

Andrew Koch
I was short-sighted as a child and first visited an Optometrist when I was 8. It was so scientific and magical that I never forgot the experience. Now I live the dream every day. Outside of work I enjoy surfing, photography and participating in theatre and the arts.
Andrew Maver
Something close to my heart is regularly volunteering as part of the East Timor Eye Program to assist with eyecare in developing nations. Outside of Optometry I enjoy kayaking, underwater hockey and spending time with my grandchildren.
Lee Baumwol
In addition to working in practice I also serve as the state president of the CCLSA, director of Optometry Tasmania and fellow of the AAO. I also work part-time at the Royal Hobart Hospital Eye Clinic.
