On the 25th and 26th of August, the Optometrists Association Australia (OAA) conference was held in Hobart; with many of our optometrists in attendance and featuring in proceedings.
The OAA is the peak organisation for optometrists in Australia. The conference itself attracts speakers from overseas and optometrists from across Australia.
Our CEO Andrew Koch gave a moving presentation on the progress of the East Timor Eye Project which Total Eyecare is heavily involved in each year.
Brett Jenkinson was re-elected as vice president of the Tasmanian branch of the Optometrists’ Association and was also elected president of the Tasmanian College of Optometry.
Brett Jenkinson and Lee Baumwol also presented case studies from the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) eye clinic.
Other presentations were also made by Total Eyecare optometrists. Michael Knipe presented a paper on Glaucoma co-management at the RHH and was awarded one of three Tasmanian Optometry Foundation scholarships. Andrew Maver was also mentioned for his involvement with patients with low vision.
Brian Sims was presented with the prestigious Life Membership of Optometrist Association Australian Tasmanian.
Here at Total Eyecare we are extremely proud of the work that all our optometrists do within the optometry community and would like to congratulate everyone for their involvement and achievements at this years Optometrists Association Australian Tasmanian Conference.
