Brett trained in Optometry at the University of Melbourne, graduating at the end of 2001. Brett obtained his first 5 years professional experience in rural and metropolitan Queensland and then moved to Tasmania in 2006 to practice with Total Eyecare.
Brett completed Queensland University of Technology’s Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics, enabling his registration to prescribe eye medications for the treatment of eye disease. Brett has also completed postgraduate training with the American Academy of Optometry, obtaining his fellowship in 2010.
Brett holds the position of vice president of the Optometrists Association (Tasmanian Division) and is the president of the Tasmanian College of Optometrists (TCO).
Brett has professional interests in vision correction, monitoring and treating ocular disease and he is an experienced contact lens practitioner with an interest in Orthokeratology.
Brett is married to Carmen and has 2 young children, Sean and Amelia. He is also is active in the community through his membership of the Rotary Club of City Central Hobart.
Brett consults at Total Eyecare’s Hobart (Macquarie St) and Huonville practices.
