We love being independent

Total Eyecare is an amalgamation of several independent practices. Since our beginnings in 1946, independence has been valued by all our owner Optometrists as it allows us to make the best clinical decisions for you. Independence allows us to choose our lens, contact lens and frame suppliers without restriction. Having access to all the best quality products for our patients is why we remain proudly independent. As fierce Tasmanians, we also contribute to our local community by employing locals and supporting our local economy.

Andrew Koch

I was short-sighted as a child and first visited an Optometrist when I was 8. It was so scientific and magical that I never forgot the experience. Now I live the dream every day. Outside of work I enjoy surfing, photography and participating in theatre and the arts.

Micheal Knipe

I have been practicing Optometry for over 40 years. I like being able to help people and doing something useful and meaningful. Outside of work I enjoy being a grandfather.

Sib Payne

I love being a part of outreach Optometry and volunteering in East Timor, Samoa and Tuvalu. We help the local communities with eyecare and train and mentor the new generation of local Optometrists in East Timor. I also love travel and am a foodie in training!

Joanna Lindsay

I have a keen interest in all aspects of Optometry and in particular enjoy the challenge of new technology in diagnosing and co-managing the treatment of eye disease.
